Description

iron cement is a physiologically harmless, highly temperature resistant 1-component specialty putty for application temperatures up to +1600°C. After curing iron cement, it protects moulds against hot, abrasive steel casting. Furthermore, iron cement is excellent for sealing continuous mould layers and as a refractory repair putty for combustion plants, furnaces etc.

Characteristics

  • high temperature resistance up to 1600°C
  • fire resistant
  • ready to use and easy to applicate
  • physiologically harmless

Typical applications

  • Wear protection on cast steel moulds
  • Joint filler on chamot bricks and chimney linings

Storage / Shelf life

Store in unopened original container in a dry place, between 10-30°C. Avoid direct sunlight. The shelf life is 24 months.

Processing / Preparation

For optimal adhesion of iron cement, we recommend degreasing the surface before application. For this purpose, we recommend the use of DIAMANT Cleaner #1417.

Application

The ready-to-use paste is applied with a spatula. Up to a layer thickness of approx. 2-3mm a fast hardening takes place. The applied filler hardens within 2 hours. After this time, subsequent layers can be applied. Curing takes place after approx. 2 hours at +20°C room temperature.

Curing

At 20°C approx. 120 minutes/ 2 hours
