Quality in Tradition

The history of DIAMANT Metallplastic GmbH goes back to the year 1886 when Robert Schulz formed his company as a small foundry which turned 1892 into the „Robert Schulz Drogerie“ (drugstore). Knowing the problems when casting, he formulated the very first repair “cements” at the end of 19th century in his drugstore offering them to the many local foundries for “c asting cosmetics”.

After WW I he and his sons widened the business and formed the “Adler Rheydter Lack-, Spachtel- & Kittfabrik” (Eagle Rheydt Paint, Putty and Cement-Company) producing mainly specialities for foundries and metal working industries, amongts them “Amerikanischer Mattlack” (Americasn Matt Paint), as per an ad in 1936. After return from WW II, the 3rd generation further widened the business, naming the company now “Adler Kitte” (Eagle Cementsd).

1951 they started …

… using Epoxies and Polyester resins with great success. In the late 1950s first business was made with East-Europe and in the mid 1970s they re-named and modernised the company into „DIAMANT Metallplastic GmbH“ and marketing was wideneed to the USA and Far East countries.
