India – a country brimming with energy, cultural diversity and technical sophistication – is now one of the world’s fastest-growing economies. Our former partner Achim Schulz recognised early on that India would also play a key role in the global future. In 1995, he packed his spirit of discovery and a healthy dose of adventurousness and, together with Gopal Srivastava, founded the joint venture Diamant Triumph Metallplastic Pvt. Ltd. in Bangalore.
At the time, it was a courageous step into the unknown – today, 30 years later, it is a success story of which we are proud. A dedicated team of around 20 employees produces and distributes our DIAMANT polymer products in India, which are of course DIN ISO 9001 certified.
And we don’t just supply products – we supply solutions. Our team in India supports the application of our materials directly at the customer’s premises and on the construction site. The list of successful projects is long – and impressive:
- The world’s highest railway bridge – Chenab Bridge, Jammu & Kashmir: Our team was on site for a year, processing our MM1018 joint compensation material – with millimetre precision, because with a bridge of this height, precision is not a luxury, but a necessity.
- India’s longest two-storey bridge – Bogibeel Bridge, Assam: With a construction period of 18 years, we were in the thick of it for 1.5 years. Thanks to our products, over 300 bridge bearings were installed with precision – a bridge in the truest sense of the word.
The course for the future is also clear: growth. We recently received approval from Indian Railways for our Liquid-Shim® for high-speed lines – so the next milestone has already been set.
India’s economy continues to grow – and we are proud to be part of this dynamic development. Thanks to the pioneering spirit of the past and the excellent work of our teams in Germany and India, we are not only celebrating 30 years of partnership, but also 30 years of friendship.
Thank you, India – here’s to the next 30 years!
