There is news! We once again had the opportunity to be part of the online trade magazine e-mosty with an exciting technical article about the successful suspension bridge refurbishment in Lisbon.
The Ponte 25 de Abril in Lisbon is a 3.2 kilometre long bridge with a 2,278 metre long suspension bridge for road and rail traffic over the Tagus. Around twenty years after the railway deck was completed, renovation work on the suspension bridge began in 2021 due to faulty tamping of the bridge bearings. The resulting cavity under the respective bearings in turn led to deformation due to the enormous load on the bridge.
In our technical article, you can find out why our innovative product, the ‘Liquid-Shim MM1018®’, was the final solution and what challenges had to be overcome during the renovation of the suspension bridge.
