With 4,978 tonnes of steel, 465 metres long and 107 metres above the Wupper, it connects the cities of Solingen and Remscheid. The historic Müngsten Bridge, the highest steel railway bridge in Germany, is not only an architectural masterpiece, it is also a supporting pillar of our infrastructure. This makes it all the more important to preserve such structures when they reach their limits! Sustainable refurbishment therefore requires the perfect interplay of engineering expertise and state-of-the-art materials.

This is exactly what we report on in the latest issue of the e-mosty trade magazine. Based on one of our largest projects, the Müngsten Bridge in Solingen, we explain how our material MM1018 – The Liquid Shim® was used to create permanent connections between new bearings and the steel structure, which is over 100 years old.
