It is projects like this that demonstrate what true engineering excellence means.
DIAMANT had the opportunity to assist with the replacement of the swivel track on a 55-year-old stacker reclaimer at Cleveland Cliffs in Burns Harbor (USA). An impressive piece of engineering history with a total diagonal of 9.2 metres.
Our tried-and-tested MM1018 levelling compound – The Liquid-Shim® was used here. As a load-bearing levelling compound, MM1018 ensures a force-fit connection between uneven surfaces and precisely compensates for unpredictable gaps. The perfect basis for maximum stability and durability.
Strong collaboration with ALPINE:
A big thank you to the team at ALPINE Bulk Materials Handling, with whom we carried out the project on site. It was a very good collaboration, from the technical coordination to the implementation in Burns Harbour!
Special challenge:
During assembly, it became apparent that the gap was significantly larger than originally assumed. Thanks to the high flowability and load-bearing capacity of our MM1018 – The Liquid Shim®, this unforeseen deviation was also reliably compensated for.
