Sensation: Fully 3D-printed motorbike sidecar with road approval!

New standards in 3D printing: After a development period of just 3 months, the time has come: The ‘ICON’ motorbike sidecar is now ready to be presented to the public for the first time at formnext 2024. This will set new standards for the future of vehicle construction!

The first fully 3D-printed motorbike sidecar received official road approval thanks to our dichtol AM UV Protection product (which was specially developed for finishing and sealing 3D-printed objects)

Thanks to dichtol AM UV Protection, the sidecar fulfils the highest safety standards and is approved for road traffic with a maximum speed of 150 km/h! A total of 1,000 ml of our sealer ensures long-lasting quality, waterproofness and UV protection.

‘ICON’ is a project by Marco Ederer, supported by 3dk.Berlin (who also commissioned this project) and us, DIAMANT Polymer GmbH. The sidecar consists of a total of 30 kilograms of engineering filament with adhesive and rivet joints, 300 rivets and 2 kilograms of special automotive adhesive. It offers a high level of comfort and functionality thanks to a large entrance with door, a 250-litre boot, a removable and configurable body kit and LED lighting in accordance with StVZO standards.

Anyone who would like to admire this world first ‘live and in colour’ is cordially invited to come to the 3dk.Berlin stand in Hall 11.1, No. D31. Marco Ederer will be there to welcome you, answer any questions you may have about his sidecar and look forward to a lively dialogue.
