With annual growth rates of up to six percent, the Indonesian economy is one of the fastest expanding in the world. This made the market interesting for DIAMANT Polymer GmbH years ago. The first meeting with the current DIAMANT business partner in Indonesia, Mr. Febian LiliPaly, took place in Singapore in February 2014.
The beginning of the successful cooperation was marked by the establishment of a commercial agency with Mr. LiliPaly’s company, PT. Pancaran Karya Anugrah – PANCAKA. Carsten Kunde fondly recalls that “after just three years, we were able to recognize that our joint business, initially with one employee, had potential. Sales developed just as impressively as our relationship of trust.”
The impetus for the further expansion of the Indonesian business and a closer partnership came from Febian LiliPaly himself. With his concept for a DIAMANT-HUB Indonesia, he presented a vision that was enthusiastically received in Mönchengladbach. Before implementation, the company succession in Germany first had to be arranged. The planned relocation of production in Germany also left little scope for a faster implementation of this concept.
In mid-2023, Carsten Kunde and Febian LiliPaly were finally able to announce the completion of the project. The newly founded joint venture operates under the name P.T. DIAMANT Polymer Indonesia. The financial commitment of the German parent company includes the rental of 200 square meters of new office and warehouse space in East Jakarta – ten minutes away from Jakarta International Sea-Port. This has laid the foundation for the next stage of growth. In addition to pure product sales, this will include an extensive warehouse as well as partial production and bottling of products that are particularly in demand locally. The four-strong sales team is to be strengthened by two more employees by the end of 2023.
Carsten Kunde has high hopes for the further “dynamic development of our Indonesian business. With our innovative polymer systems, we also want to set new standards and maintain values in Southeast Asia.”
