More Information
Prepare the component
Ensure the surface is clean, dry, free of grease, and free of dust.
Select the application method:
Immersion: Fully submerge the part in dichtol for 5 minutes.
Brush application or spraying: Coat or spray the surface with dichtol and keep it continuously wet during the 5-minute treatment time.
Internal sealing: Fill in dichtol, gently swirl the part for 5 minutes, then pour off the dichtol.
Remove excess (optional)
After letting it sit for a short time, wipe off or allow any excess material to drip off the surface to prevent streaks or drips from forming.
Allow to cure
Allow the component to cure for 24 hours at room temperature. Do not test for leaks or proceed with further processing until after this time.
From prototype development to mass production—dichtol AM Hydro solves the most common problems associated with 3D-printed parts.
Sealing with dichtol is suitable for all common printing processes, such as FDM, SLS, SLA, and MJF. It can be used to seal plastics, metals, and ceramics as printing materials.
Regardless of the application method, we recommend applying the treatment continuously for 5 minutes.
Then let the part dry at room temperature for 24 hours – and you’re done.
We have demonstrated drinking water compliance for dichtol AM #2567, which means that no components leach out of the sealant when it comes into contact with drinking water. We currently do not have food contact compliance for any dichtol products, as this must always be tested for the entire component. Therefore, this must be determined separately by the customer for each specific application.
dichtol AM Hydro has a temperature resistance of 130°C. A detailed list of the temperature resistance of our dichtol products can be found in our download section.
