As part of the project at the Wusterwitz lock in Brandenburg, our MM1018 FL – The Liquid-Shim® – was specifically used in the installation of the stem cleats on the lock gate. These components serve as central power transmission elements between the lock gate and the masonry. When fitting the wedge blocks, design-related gaps arise, which were previously filled with elaborately cut lining plates. However, the mechanical solution was prone to loosening, inaccuracies and crevice corrosion.
With MM1018 FL, a permanent force- and form-fitting connection could be created without mechanical reworking or the risk of corrosion. The highly filled reaction resin was injected into the existing gaps.
Thanks to its flowable processing, the material was able to adapt optimally to the component geometry and compensate for all unevenness. The result is a technically reliable, economically efficient and low-maintenance solution.
Thanks to MM1018 FL, not only was the assembly time significantly reduced, but the long-term safety of the lock system was also sustainably increased.
