New standards in 3D printing: After a development period of only 3 months, the ‘ICON’ motorcycle sidecar was ready for the road! It was presented to the public for the first time at Formnext 2024. This set new standards for the future of vehicle construction!
Thanks to our product dichtol AM UV Protection (which was specially developed for the finishing and sealing of 3D-printed objects), the first fully 3D-printed motorcycle sidecar received official TÜV approval and is ready for the road!
Thanks to dichtol AM UV Protection, the sidecar meets the highest safety standards and is approved for road use with a maximum speed of 150 km/h! A total of 1,000 ml of our sealant ensures long-lasting quality, water resistance and UV protection.
‘ICON’ is a project by Marco Ederer, supported by 3dk.Berlin (who are the sponsors of this project) and DIAMANT. The sidecar consists of a total of 30 kilograms of engineering filament with adhesive and rivet connections, 300 rivets and 2 kilograms of special automotive adhesive. With a large entrance with door, a 250-litre boot, a removable and configurable body kit and LED lighting that complies with StVZO standards, it offers a high level of comfort and functionality.
