Strong together for an extraordinary construction project!

When 160 tonnes of precision meets technical expertise.

During the modernisation work on the Neuwerben weir flood defence structure, our team, in collaboration with Schorisch Magis, successfully carried out a demanding task.

The challenge:

Complex gaps between the approximately 24-metre-wide sluice gate and the two carriage supports had to be reliably sealed. This is a prerequisite for full-surface, force-fit load transfer.

This is where our gap-filling material MM1018 – The Liquid-Shim® – came into play. Despite the complex geometry, our MM1018 grouting compound reliably filled all gaps and voids, thereby ensuring precise gap compensation and bringing the sluice gate and carriage supports together.

A particular challenge: the overall structure was too heavy to be lifted by a floating crane. Thanks to the release agent previously applied by Schorisch Magis, the components could be easily separated again once the work was complete, lifted individually and then reassembled.

Projects such as this demonstrate how important the right material solution and close cooperation between all parties involved are. We are delighted to have contributed to the successful implementation of this impressive hydraulic engineering project with our solution, MM1018 – The Liquid-Shim®.
