dichtol WF 49 is a specially developed, moisture-curing impregnation system with very high solvent resistance. Depending on the setting variant, dichtol WF 49 can be used to seal the smallest pores up to 0.1 mm or particularly large pores from 0.1 to 0.5 mm. This achieves a high level of pressure tightness in components, even with difficult object structures. In the case of locally known leaks, punctual impregnation ensures efficient use of material.
Properties
Efficient material consumption
Versatile application options through dipping, brushing, injecting, spraying
Temporary corrosion and transport protection
Resistant to aggressive solvents
High penetration depth
Typical applications
Capillary-active deep impregnation of micropores, hairline cracks and porosities
Selective serial impregnation
Individual impregnation (of large components)
Storage / Shelf life
Shelf life at 15°C to 30°C: 6 months in sealed containers, store in a dry place. Avoid temperature fluctuations at all costs, as it is sensitive to moisture! If dichtol WF 49 comes into contact with moisture, it should no longer be used. Color change can occur with heat and UV radiation: Transparent/clear up to yellowing. These changes generally have no influence on the technical quality of the product.
Processing / Preparation
Mix dichtol WF 49 well with Diamond Thinner #1285 in the desired setting variant. Dirt residues, foreign bodies, grease and other substances must be completely removed from the pores to be sealed. We recommend the use of DIAMANT (#1417) for this purpose.
Application
The object temperature should not exceed 40°C, otherwise 100% penetration of the polymer cannot be guaranteed.
Brushing & spraying
Apply dichtol in 4 steps at intervals of approx. 1 minute and keep the surface wet for at least 5 minutes. This allows dichtol to penetrate deep into the pores.
Inject
Inject dichtol into the blind hole (or similar) and leave to work for 5 minutes. If necessary, siphon off/pour out excess material after the reaction time.
Immersion
Completely immerse the component to be treated in dichtol. Remove the component after an exposure time of approx. 10 minutes.
Curing
dichtol WF 49 is a chemically setting product that cures at temperatures of 5°C to 35°C at a relative humidity of 35% to 85%. Physical curing is achieved after a short time. Full chemical resistance is achieved after a short time. Full chemical resistance is achieved after 7 days.
